Bluefin tuna belly, in pitted olive oil, is a typical Sardinian product of great value. The belly is in fact the tastiest part of tuna, as it is obtained from the soft belly flesh of the fish. The tunas are called ‘running’ (‘di corsa’) because they swim non-stop from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean to lay their eggs. The flesh of these fillets is rich in Omega 3, a powerful natural antioxidant. Soft and delicate on the palate.
