Conte della Vipera – Castello della Sala

Wine produced from a careful selection of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes, ’Conte della Vipera’ pays tribute to the castle’s first owners and the label features the 13th century chapel of St John, located on the estate.
The year 2020 will be remembered as a tendentially dry vintage. Winter, with almost no rain, saw temperatures that were not too cold predominate. Spring, which arrived slightly later than in previous years, was characterised by mild days and temperatures above seasonal averages, except for a few cooler periods at the beginning of April. Later, from June until almost mid-August, the warm and dry weather led to an early ripening of the grapes. The timing of the harvest was chosen in order to obtain the highest expression of the varietal aromas. The harvest began with Sauvignon Blanc in the second ten days of August and ended with Sémillon in mid-September.
